SOUND: Many poets use the sound of words in their poems, and may use devices such as alliteration, onomatopoeia, or rhyme.
RHYTHM: Rhythm refers to the timing and pace of a poem. Some styles of poetry, like sonnets and haikus, have very specific rhythmic patterns, or meters, but other in other styles, poets create their own rhythm.
