Works Cited

A works cited page is the last page of your research paper. It is a list of all the sources you have quoted and/or paraphrased from.

The format of the works cited page generally follows these rules:

  • Center the title, "Works Cited", at the top of the page.
  • Double space the entire list of sources.
  • Use hanging indention for each entry. Begin each entry on the left margin; indent all subsequent lines one-half inch. Example:

  • Arrange entries in alphabetical order by author's last name or title, when there is no author.

If you use any of the online citation makers below, you can export all of your citations to a work cited page where you can pick the format (MLA, APA, Chicago). However, you need to double check and make sure that your citations came out properly formatted! Double check!
