  2. a business owner or executive who acquires wealth through ethically questionable tactics

  • a ruthlessly powerful U.S. capitalist or industrialist of the late 19th century considered to have become wealthy by exploiting natural resources, corrupting legislators, or other unethical means.

  • someone who owns or manages a large, successful business or company

  • the head of a large business firm, especially of an industrial complex.
