ClipArt ETC
From the University of South Florida, this site has over 70,000 old-fashioned images and illustrations which are in the public domain and free to use.
Clippix ETC
Also from USF, this site has a growing collection of photos. Students and teachers may use up to 25 photos in a project, so long as they provide credit to the Florida Center for Instructional Technology.
Flickr
Flickr has a huge collection of user photos. When searching, click on "Any License," then select "All creative commons," and follow the guidelines set forth by the creator.
morgueFILE
morgueFILE offers free which are free to use and do not require attribution.
PicJumbo
Picjumbo has a large collection of free images which are free to use, remix, and share. Attribution is welcomed, but not necessary.
Pixabay
Pixabay has over 500,000 free images under a Creative Commons 0 license (free to use, remix, share with no attribution).
Snapwire
Stock photos licensed under a Creative Commons Zero license.
Unsplash
Beautiful stock photos available under a Creative Commons Zero license.
Wikimedia Commons
Over 29 million images which are free to use; follow the license guidelines set forth by the individual creators.

Bensound: Tracks on this site may be downloaded and used for free with attribution to the creator and no remixes.
ccMixter: Offers a variety of music tracks under a Creative Commons license.
Free Music Archive: FMA has music tracks under Creative Commons licenses and public domain. Music can be searched by mood, genre, tempo, and length.
Musopen: Historical music in the public domain, browseable by composer, time period, instrument, and form.
PublicDomain4U: Historical music in the public domain, searchable by genre.
